If you say to somebody, “God is in the miracles,” nobody's going to disagree with that. God can do mighty works. He can part the sea. It's more difficult to believe that God's right with you and you're sweating…and you're not sure you're going to get through an exam, or you're struggling with your spouse having a knock-down drag-out fight, or in a moment of temptation when you don’t feel the presence of God.

It's hard to believe that God's right there with you, but God is right there with you. My job is to help people to learn how to be able to understand that, to believe that, to recognize that, and to call upon God, right in that moment, in the ordinariness of their lives.
